USBC will be opening our doors Thursday 12th September (10:30am-12:00 noon)
and Saturday 14th September (10am-2:30pm) as part of the national Heritage Open Days event. The baptistry will be open, together with displays from our rich archive, history boards, photographs and other memorabilia. A great opportunity to see in a traditional Victorian chapel, built more than 140 years ago, which has maintained a strong and secure presence within an ever-changing neighbourhood and has formed part of the lives of so many people in the town of Crewe.
Description:
Step inside the only listed Baptist chapel in Crewe. See the sunken baptistry, set in the floor of the interior. Look up and admire the balcony which circles the upper floor, the famous rose window and our Wadsworth two manual pipe organ. See displays of past events, the people who have gone before us and the part that the church has played in the life of the town, whilst enjoying light refreshments in the rooms behind. Find out what is New and Next for this vibrant faith community.
